Good day, fellow plug pie seeker 🥧🤤⚡
For anyone traveling in the US over Thanksgiving, wishing you safe travels and seamless charging. This week’s edition is abridged, as we’re doing exactly that, but you’ll still find a whole lot of EVI going on across the continent.
Here’s a quick summary of US and Canadian EV infrastructure developments this week ⤵️
🔍 Charging Vendor Spotlight: Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging (MB-HPC)
News - After our previous coverage spotlighting MB-HPC for rapid deployments in Texas and the Southeast, the team has taken this thing coast-to-coast. MB map pins are popping up everywhere in New England and the brand this week confirmed its first site energized in partnership with Starbucks, adding the first West Coast MB-HPC location.
Numbers - 51 fast-charging stations open across 17 states, with another 46 locations in the coming soon category, adding seven new states (IL/MI/NY/OH/OR/PA/WA) and one Canadian province (BC) to the MB-HPC coverage map.
Nuance - The next wave of expansion for MB-HPC comes at a moment of transition, with current CEO Andrew Cornelia soon moving to become Global Head of Electrification at Uber. Watch our conversation with Andrew from earlier this year for a look back at the network’s expansion plans and how much of this has come to pass in 2025.
Next Up - Canada is coming! Too many new players hit full steam in the United States with only a vague hand wave towards Canadian EV drivers, but MB-HPC now has confirmed locations in British Columbia to mark its entry into another market. If the pace at which the brand has expanded here in New England over the last few months is any indication, we can expect to see at least one of these locations energized in early 2026.

🛣️ On the Road: This Week in DCFC
News - A week with perhaps more activity than expected, given the holiday break in the United States, as charging vendors rushed to open locations in time for holiday travel and Flo + BC Hydro added to stations energized north of the border.
Numbers - 539 DC charging ports at 79 charging locations added to the Alternative Fuels Data Center this week., spread across 28 states and provinces.

Notable New Stations + AFDC Additions:
🔷 After providing some of its customers with charging credit for the holiday period, EVgo gave drivers the extra bonus of 11 new stations across seven states. 62 new DC ports were added in total, with most offering six stalls per site. Three locations at property group Ethan Conrad in California (Elk Grove, Rocklin, and Sacramento) and two Pilot-Flying J locations in Illinois (East St. Louis and Pontoon Beach) stand out.
🔵 An opening in the moody mountainous region of British Columbia for BC Hydro, with a new 8-stall station energized in Hope. Pull-through stalls and power up to 350kW across eight ABB dispensers puts CCS1 handles right next to a 24-stall Supercharger, making this something of a fast-charging oasis at the Silver Creek Travel Centre.

⚡ A new Francis Energy location in Newburg, PA, brings the state up to 25 active NEVI stations. This one is at an independent restaurant and ice cream store, serving the Pennsylvania Turnpike at exit 201 in the center of the state.
📶 Spotlight vendor Mercedes-Benz High Power Charging continued its quiet expansion (sites not yet appearing in AFDC) with new locations open in Kittery, ME, and St. Johnsbury, VT. These are in addition to the first site open in partnership with Starbucks, over in Red Bluff, CA.
🧀 Kwik Trip opened its latest Kwik Charge station in Wisconsin, this time in the state’s popular Dells region. The familiar four SK Signet 400kW dispensers are deployed here again, with NACS/J3400 handles on each alongside the required CCS1 connectors at this partially federally funded site (one of 12 NEVI sites open in Wisconsin).

🔴 Tesla Charging energized 159 stalls across 11 new Supercharger locations, covering six states and one Canadian province. 12 stalls in Delta, BC add to Tesla’s presence in one of Canada’s largest EV markets, while 32 stalls in Inglewood, CA, and 20 in Stuart, FL, make for the largest inside and outside of California, respectively. The Lost Hills Supercharger that we highlighted over the summer is also up to full strength, with Tesla confirming all 168 stalls and 10 Megapacks (battery storage systems) operational for the holidays.
⭕ Red E added 10 stalls across four locations in three states, bringing smaller two-stall locations to Jamestown, ND, and two spots in Michigan (Detroit and Taylor). The larger site brings four new stalls to a Ford dealership in Easley, SC.
🟠 IONNA opened four new Rechargeries in Colorado, Florida, Indiana, and North Carolina. Another new spot at a Wawa is available in Pensacola, FL, which almost seems small at 10 stalls. That’s because dedicated Relay locations in Limon, CO, and Concord, NC, bring 16 stalls to the table. In the case of Limon, it’s also a full canopy to the eastern side of the state on I-70, which will be welcome as winter snow approaches.
🟢 Electrify America added two new locations: six stalls in Broomall, PA, and four at an EVolve New York partner site in Afton, NY. Electrify Canada also made a rare addition with a new four-stall location in Osoyoos, BC, close to the US border with Washington state.
🍁 FLO made up 61% of the port additions in Canada, with 31 new stalls spread across nine locations in British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. A six-stall site with pull-through spaces at a Canadian Tire store in Montreal, QC, is the pick of the bunch.
⭐ Rivian opened a new Adventure Network location in Idaho Springs, CO. Nine stalls is an odd number in both senses of the word, as we may expect a 10th stall soon, but it’s the largest location in town either way. An 8-stall Supercharger one exit down and additional fast-charging options from Loop and ChargePoint’s Volvo-Starbucks partnership make this a great spot to stop for EV drivers traveling I-70.
💡 A new four-stall site from Electric Era in the company’s home state of Washington brings its network total to 22 locations in 12 states and continues its streak of averaging a new station open every month in 2025. Us? We’re watching for the debut location in Maine, with the upcoming site in Orono adding to the limited options on I-95 to Canada.

📝 In the Pipeline - New Sites Planned, Permitted, or Under Construction
🚨On Twitter/X, AlejandroEV66 highlighted new IONNA Rechargeries permitted in Alexandria, VA, and Bellevue, WA, while Walter at tNAC flagged that more than 50 locations are now under construction. For context, that’s more than the network has opened in its first operating year and likely misses sites that have yet to be identified, indicating the possibility of the network more than doubling in size by the end of Q1 2026.
🚧 IONNA itself confirmed fences up at three new locations: Jacksonville, FL, South Brunswick, NJ, and Reading, PA (not to be confused with the recently opened Reading, MA, which as locals we can confirm will get a new Italian restaurant in February 2026!)
📍 In addition to opening the network’s debut location in California, Mercedes-Benz High Power Charging has quietly added a swathe of upcoming stations across the continent. More than 30 locations are in the MB-HPC “coming soon” bucket, including the network’s first locations in Canada, all of which are in British Columbia.

Coming soon? Unbranded Alpitronic Hyperchargers at a NEVI site in Drums, PA
📝 MarcoRP on Twitter/X identified new Superchargers coming soon to Laredo, TX, Blanding, UT, and Gig Harbor, WA. A new Tesla Semicharger is also permitted for the Port of Tacoma in Washington state.
🪙 NEVI construction is underway in Illinois, with the first work spotted at the Love’s Travel Stops location in Greenville, IL. Check our NEVI progress map to monitor the latest sites energized and those confirmed (or spotted) under construction.
🔶 A new Rivian Adventure Network location is permitted for Santa Clarita, CA, according to RAN Tracker on Twitter/X.
💲Pricing: EVgo Charging Credits for GM EV Drivers Target Travel Season Utilization
News - EVgo dropped charging credits into the accounts of many customers, citing ownership of General Motors EV models as the reason for the seasonal gift. The promotion has a clear tie to the holiday travel season, released the week before Thanksgiving in the US and expiring at the end of 2025.
Numbers - $80-$85 of complimentary credits applied to the member’s EVgo account represents a generous offer from EVgo, taking care of three to four charging sessions for an average EV with a 75-80 kWh pack.
Nuance - Although the terms of the offer sent to customers indicate that partner sites are excluded from the credits, there is no distinction between the two in the EVgo account transactions section. Users have been reporting success charging at any EVgo location and the credits still being applied to their session, making the offer valuable for metro area charging and travel charging alike.
Next Up - With a credit expiration date of 12/31/25, EV drivers traveling for the holiday season have every incentive to seek out EVgo stations and give the brand a try. EVgo is also continuing a push to win over vehicles with native NACS/J3400 ports, adding the connector type to more and more of its owned/operated locations, especially in California.
🎧 Amped Up for Audio 🔌
In every edition, we recommend one of the best listens on electrification, energy, or something similarly EV-related.
This week, it’s back to our own Coast-to-Coast EVs show for reflections on the reboot of the NEVI program.
The regular trio of hosts are joined by returning guest Jacob Espinoza of the AP1 channel (and charging site reports on Twitter/X) to dissect the DCFC boom underway with private funding and the survival of the NEVI program.
Reporting in from all corners of the country, the quartet assess progress on both sides and reflect on the deceptively simple question: with so much private construction underway, do we still need the NEVI program?
