Good day, fellow Plug Purveyor 🔌📢
With so many charging providers targeting rapid growth and vying for position in the US market, we’re seeing new milestones for individual CPOs almost every week. Rivian is the latest, pushing past the 1,000 stalls mark as May came to a close, and we now have Pilot-Flying J closing in on 300 locations with a busy first week of June. On the publicly-funded side, the embattled NEVI program is also close to 200 sites energized.
As Walmart and IONNA gear up to take on the established top charging networks and Tesla bolsters its activity with Supercharger for Business activations, don’t expect these announcements to let up any time soon.
For your weekly pulse check, here are the latest EV infrastructure developments ⤵️
📊 Sunday Stat: Only 4% of DCFC in the US/Canada is hosted by the hospitality sector. Despite being overshadowed by the dominance of retail, fueling, and automotive site hosts, hotels, resorts, and casinos are staking a greater claim for fast-charging, as CPOs face increased competition for prime locations. The last two years saw a ramp of DCFC sites in this category, with 44% of those listed in AFDC opened in 2024 or later. And on the L2 side, SwiftCharge will add 300 AC chargers at 70 InnVest hotel locations across Canada.

🔍 Charging Vendor Spotlight: Zero 60 Charging
News - Wisconsin-based Zero 60 continues to expand its footprint, which is hosted on the ChargePoint network, after confirming a flurry of activations in May.
Numbers - With the 26 ports added over a 72-hour period last month, the company now operates 23 DCFC sites across 5 states (CA/CO/NY/WA/WI), totaling 127 charging ports.

Nuance - Zero 60’s deployment is underpinned by Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI), which works on everything from site development to commissioning and post-activation operational support. Check out an interview with FTI’s EVP Wade Leipold here, courtesy of Jay Williams at the WisconsEV channel.
Next Up - The company confirmed another 50 ports in the pipeline heading into the summer months, with longer-term plans to scale significantly in California indicated by almost 30 NEVI awards in the state.

The Electrification of Heavy Machinery Has a Ground Floor
Tesla did it to cars. Now the same shift is coming for excavators, forklifts, cranes, and military equipment. The difference is that nobody has owned this moment yet — until RISE Robotics.
Their technology strips hydraulics out of heavy machinery entirely and replaces it with a patented electric actuator. No fluid. Full digital control. Built for the autonomous machines that are coming whether the industry is ready or not. The Pentagon is already a customer.
Last Round Oversubscribed. $9.7M in revenue already on the board. Dylan Jovine of ‘Behind the Markets’ spotted it early. The Wefunder community round lets anyone invest alongside institutional backers.
🔌 AC/DC: This Week in L2 Charging
News - AC charging additions ramped up a little this week, not quite reaching the heights of earlier in Q2 but representing a strong showing across key markets in both the US and Canada.
Numbers - 461 L2 charging ports added to the Alternative Fuels Data Center this week, spread across 23 states and 6 Canadian provinces.

Notable New L2 + AFDC Additions:
🟢 ChargeSmart EV managed only one site this week, but it was L2 with most of the key ingredients, including ample stalls and a hotel site host. 12 stalls at the Candlewood Suites in Evans Mills, NY, are capable of up to 10kW AC charging for guests. Unfortunately, pricing kills that enthusiasm from day one, with a flat fee of $0.49 for connection compounded by a completely uncompetitive energy rate of $0.69/kWh. With more affordable DC fast chargers en route, this highlights a growing pricing problem that is sure to impact utilization at these otherwise convenient locations.
🟠 ChargePoint added 231 ports across the United States and Canada, including 12 ports at the home of Sony Interactive Entertainment in San Mateo, CA, and 4 at the City of Frisco downtown parking garage in Texas.
◾ Blink Charging added 19 new L2 ports at 6 locations in 5 states, with quite the variety of sites. Several are municipal, but we also have the tasty addition of Raising Cane’s in Alhambra, CA, and the rare combination of charging and target practice, with 2 ports at the Pistol & Rifle Club in Taunton, MA.
📍 Significant activity for the Vialynk L2 network resumes this week, with plenty outside of the company’s home state, New York. 11 ports at two city park locations in Atlanta, GA, stand out, as does a hotel-hosted site in Corydon, IN, which was recently rehabilitated after the exit of former operator, Enel X.
⚡Circuit électrique had a big week on the AC charging side, with 47 ports listed across 19 locations, all but two of which are in Montréal, QC. Most of these are simple 2-port deployments, with a few 4-port installs, such as Saint-Patrice-de-Beaurivage.
⭕ Red E energized 11 AC ports at 5 locations in 4 states. Most are hosted at municipal sites, the most notable of which is Freeport Town Hall in Maine, with 4 new stalls.
🔷 FLO added 12 AC ports across 5 locations, 3 of which are in Washington State. 4 ports at the Two Rivers Casino in Darrington, WA, make for the largest FLO location this week.
🛣️ Fast Forward: This Week in DCFC
News - A quiet week for DC fast charging after a flurry of activity during the second half of May, hopefully as CPOs gear up for what we expect to be a big summer. Nonetheless, notable openings from Tesla, Pilot-Flying J, IONNA, and Rivian keep progress ticking over.
Numbers - For the week, 198 DC charging ports at 34 charging locations were added to the AFDC, covering 20 states and just the one Canadian province.

Check out the DCFCtracker.com site to see a map of the latest AFDC additions in the United States, which can also be filtered down to the past week, month, or quarter.

US additions mapped by DCFCtracker.com - 5/31 to 6/6/26
Notable New Locations + AFDC Additions:
📍 Pilot-Flying J appears to be ready to hit 300 active US charging locations in June, with another 4 stations and 18 stalls moving things along nicely as the month opens. A site in Moss Point, MS, expands the network’s presence on I-10 and brings the state’s total to 7, according to the latest P-FJ update from Walter at tNAC. Closer to those of us in the Northeast, a second site in New England is now energized in Chicopee, MA.
🔴 Tesla Charging slowed a little this week with Supercharger deployment, but still made solid progress with 72 stalls at 6 locations in as many states. 16 stalls make for a useful addition in Houston, TX, while on the East Coast another Supercharger is hosted by Wawa, this one in Richmond, VA.
🍁 Auto dealer charging represents the only action in Canada this week, with a small ChargePoint location at a Mercedes dealership in North Vancouver, BC, overshadowed by the larger 6-stall FLO option added by Kot Auto Group in Nanaimo, BC. The latter deploys 3 FLO Ultra units, which is a pretty impressive commitment for a dealer site.

⚡ IONNA managed 3 new location openings, marking its joint strongest week since March. The San Francisco Rechargery Relay on Folsom St. is the headline site, bringing 10 stalls to the heart of a major metro area with outsized EV adoption and many residents without driveways. The other locations are 8 stalls in King of Prussia, PA, and the second site to be transitioned from Circle K Charge to IONNA, in Morton, IL.
🟢 After several multi-site activation weeks, Electrify America only posted one this week, but it was big. 12 stalls at the Menards in Kent, OH, opens up a spot we highlighted a couple of weeks ago, and continues the network’s trend toward larger charging sites.
🪙 An expanded ChargePoint location at Onvo in Mountain Top, PA, is the only NEVI action this week. A new Express Plus unit adds to the two existing dispensers, bringing it up to spec for the federal program and securing $661,019 for the necessary hardware, contractor work, and upgrades.

Another NACS-only location for RAN, as shared with us by fellow EV enthusiast Mike Mahan in SoCal
🔶 10 more ports and another NACS-only site for the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN), with a new location in Irvine, CA, opened this week. This marks the 7th RAN site with NACS-J3400 handles and no CCS1 option, as Rivian positions for the long-awaited delivery of its mainstream R2 model, which ships with a native NACS port.
⭕ Red E added 22 stalls at 4 locations in 3 states, with Massachusetts (2 sites) back in action for the network this week. The largest site is in Illinois, however, with a larger-than-usual 10-stall location opened next to the Las Palmas Mexican Grill in Champaign, IL.
👀 One to watch in Mooresville, NC, where an otherwise unassuming ChargePoint CPE250 installation has plans to become a much more full-service experience. The LKN Charge Spot intends to add a “micro-market” alongside other retail opportunities, and food truck events that offer an extra reason to visit. It’s an interesting site that could physically epitomize the shift from chargers in a parking lot to a driver-focused charging destination, if those plans come to fruition. We’ll be watching and rooting for them!

📝 In the Pipeline - New Sites Planned, Permitted, or Under Construction
📝 Starting with Tesla permitting, new Supercharger filings identified by MarcoRPi1 for Marietta, GA, Queens, NY, and Elma, WA. Tesla Megachargers are also part of a larger HDEV charging location from Forum Mobility at the Port of Oakland, CA.
⚪ Activity on the Tesla Supercharger for Business side shows new SfB locations planned for Alexandria, LA (Broadway EV Charging) and Golf, FL (ROAM Energy). A new SfB site was also spotted in Sandy, UT, with construction in the advanced stages but still awaiting a transformer. Construction is also underway at the SfB site in Brentwood, TN, which will be hosted by the pre-owned electric-vehicle retailer EV Auto.
🟠 We’re starting to see official “fences up” announcements from IONNA again, with sites on both coasts confirmed by the company to be under construction in Patterson, CA, and Wellington, FL. AlejandroEV66 also highlighted a location permitted for Portage, MI. Unfortunately, via the same source, we learn that a proposed Rechargery in Edina, MN, has not been approved.

Credit: CNB Contracting Corp
🚧 CNB Contracting also shared a construction update, with fences up at a future charging site that will bring 6 fast chargers (unclear if 6 dispensers or overall stall count) to Harrisburg International Airport in Pennsylvania. If we’re reading the tea leaves correctly, this should be the Rd. 1A NEVI site ($553,128) awarded to Blink Charging.
🛒 EV Infrastructure Report shared 8 Walmart EV Charging (WEVC) locations in permitting for the San Antonio metro area in Texas, including 7 Supercenters and 1 Neighborhood Market. The project’s coming soon pipeline, monitored closely by the Wattmart site, looks like this: 313 known locations across 34 states, with 176 in the permit stage and 137 now under construction.
Is there an upcoming site in your area that the EV community needs to know about?

🚚 InCharge Raises $46M to Expand Fleet Infrastructure
News - Fleet charging and energy infrastructure provider InCharge has secured $46M in investment from a funding round led by S2G Investments.
Numbers - 30,000+ chargers are managed under the wider InCharge portfolio, located primarily at commercial fleet, municipal, and educational facilities.

Image Credit: InCharge Energy on X
Nuance - Adjacent energy services continue to be the undercurrent pulling the wider EV sector through turbulent times, and this investment speaks to many of those spaces. As InCharge CEO Rich Mohr puts it: “EV charging was the entry point, but our customers increasingly need help operating more complex energy infrastructure.” Fleet EVs are starting to be seen as an energy storage resource, as well as transportation. As that part of the sector matures, InCharge can use this investment to position itself for a full suite of electrification, charging, and energy management services.
Next Up - Look for InCharge to announce additional fleet service partnerships as its new capital is deployed, including multi-faceted installations that incorporate battery energy storage systems and bidirectional charging solutions.
💲Electrify America Reworks Payment Processing + Rolls Out Summer Savings TOU Rates
News - Electrify America (EA) made two significant price/payment shifts this week, moving away from the existing wallet system in favor of direct card billing, and expanding time-of-use (TOU) pricing in time for the summer travel season.
Numbers - For direct billing, temporary authorization holds will be placed in $20 increments until a session finishes, at which point the balance will be calculated and billed directly to the user’s payment card. At TOU sites, the price differential is typically $0.20/kWh, with lower rates in the mid-40 cents and higher rates in the mid-60 cents area. However, some sites in California rise as high as $0.76/kWh, making TOU savings even more valuable. As before, the Pass+ plan reduces all price points by ~25%.

EA’s latest expansion of TOU pricing at a site in Massachusetts, with Pass+ bringing the lowest off-peak rate of $0.44/kWh down to $0.33/kWh
Nuance - After an initial trial phase that focused heavily on its sites in California and the Tri-state area, Electrify America now offers TOU pricing at 63% of its locations. The price differentials can be substantial, with sites that are on the higher end of DCFC pricing during peak hours, off-plan, falling to rates below the lowest priced nationwide CPO, IONNA, which currently caps its rates at $0.39/kWh. However, no membership plan is needed with IONNA, whereas EA customers need the Pass+ plan and the right time period to unlock these lower price points.
Next Up - The specific “Summer Savings” phrasing from Electrify America in its promotion of this shift raises questions around how long the new pricing structure will last. Watch for any potential reversion to occur in late Q3/early Q4 2026. The payment shift removing the EA wallet will be rolled out over the coming weeks, as customers use up any existing balances they hold with the network and move to direct billing.
