Summer is in full flow and the injection of warmer weather clearly agrees with some networks, as some CPOs that slowed in spring appear to get their groove back. IONNA is the most notable example as the month comes to a close, energizing 20+ sites in July. That’s more than its entire Q2 activity combined and puts the network past 1,300 DCFC stalls in operation.

A record month for Walmart EV Charging as well, as the retailer opened 26 new locations in July, narrowly surpassing its May total of 25. This momentum already puts the company in the middle tier of nationwide DCFC operators. Maintaining that pace would put it in the top 10 CPOs before the year is out.

Here are the latest EVI developments (belated and abridged, due to more summer travel) across the US and Canada ⤵️

📊 Sunday Monday Stat: The latest Flash Report from Ohm Analytics highlights a “9% increase YoY in the number of residential EV charging projects installed in June 2026 vs. June 2025”.

Although the increase is relatively small, it comes at a time when more basic “charge where you park” deployments seem to hold the greatest potential to reinvigorate EV adoption in the United States. Read a sample of the report here.

News - As the state of Florida continues its confrontational stance towards publicly funded EV charging stations, a silver lining is found in the expansion of this statewide network backed by Florida Power & Light.

Numbers - Almost 400 stalls at 109 DCFC sites across the state of Florida, with an average of 3.6 stalls per location and power ranging from 120 to 400kW at most FPL Evolution sites. The network also offers L2 charging at many sites.

Nuance - Florida has long opposed spending federal funds allocated to the state under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program, even going so far as to create a website railing against the plan. Now, it is proposing to reallocate its $197M allotment to develop eVTOL airpads. Despite the obvious advantage of NEVI in filling infrastructure gaps for EVs that are already here, the rebuttal that private investment will develop DCFC does hold some water. All of the major network builds, including Tesla, IONNA, Walmart, and Pilot-Flying J, have focused heavily on Florida, and FPL Evolution adds another option for the state’s many EV drivers (second only to California).

Next Up - FPL Evolution’s next phase of expansion takes it into the place everyone wants to charge: their own driveway or garage. The Home program is now available for enrollment to Florida Power & Light customers, with hardware, installation, and maintenance, all covered by a monthly fee and preferential charging rates available based on time and day of use.

News - A more evenly split period for AC additions, with activity spread across more providers than just ChargePoint, as Red E, Blink, and ViaLynk all post strong L2 port counts this week.

Numbers - 461 L2 charging ports added to the Alternative Fuels Data Center this week, covering 25 states and 3 Canadian provinces.

Notable New L2 + AFDC Additions:

🟠 ChargePoint added 265 ports across the United States and Canada (57% of the week’s total), including 70 stalls for students and faculty at UC Berkeley in California and a variety of municipal locations in Lawrence, KS.

🔷 FLO added 27 ports across 6 locations in 2 provinces (ON, QC) and 2 states (MA, WA). These include 4 for guests at the TownePlace Suites in Vaughan, ON and 5 at a hospital in Terrebonne, QC.

◾ Blink Charging added 33 ports at 9 locations this week, including several at municipal sites for the City of Vista, CA (pictured below).

⭕ Red E energized a remarkable 93 AC ports at just 4 locations across 3 states. 53 ports at a residential complex in Cumming, GA, add the bulk of those, while another 20 at a pickleball facility in Oakland, NJ, also contribute significantly to the total.

⚡ SynergEV is now managing 4 ports at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR.

🗽 ViaLynk lit up 36 ports across New York and New Jersey, with 4 at the Hyatt Place in Fort Lee, NJ, probably the most useful for travelers and business guests using the hotel, which is within sight of the George Washington Bridge and New York City.

News - A limited week for overall DCFC additions, though some of the rising networks saw a spike in deployments that points to a positive second half of the year.

Numbers - 224 DC charging ports at 40 charging locations were added to the AFDC, covering 20 states and 1 Canadian province.

Notable New Locations + AFDC Additions:

⚡As anticipated in last week’s edition, July proved to be a return to form for IONNA. The network finally started to flex the undeniable muscle that it demonstrated towards the end of 2025 with a record month of openings. 8 sites opened this past week alone makes it tough to pick which to highlight, so we’ll focus on the 10-stall deployment at a Wally’s in Whitestown, IN, as the notable new location, and a Circle K site in Pasco, WA, as upgrades to former CK Charge now stretch coast-to-coast across 11 locations.

📍 Walmart EV Charging continued an opening streak that puts the network just one short of 100 active locations, with 5 new sites energized this week. None are in new states, but after a long wait to open its first WEVC location, North Carolina adds a second this week with Supercenter 4574 in Concord, NC, now charging EVs. Another location in Aurora, CO, brings 4 ABB A400 units to Supercenter 5334. Let’s see how far past 100 we get in August… 👀

🔷 FLO opened 2 new locations in Canada, one of which brings the FLO Ultra charging system to the First Nations Reserve of Wikwemikong in Ontario.

🔴 Tesla Charging energized 56 stalls at 5 of its own locations, with a 16-stall site in Houston, TX, the largest of the bunch. No new 500kW V4 locations were opened this week.

⚪ Tesla’s Supercharger for Business program also added another location, this one owned by the Island Center retail property in Isle of Palms, SC. This is the first SfB site opened in South Carolina and a valuable addition to EV owners visiting this beachfront community.

🟢 Electrify America energized a new Pennsylvania NEVI site a couple of days after we visited this week, at a Wawa store in Quakertown, PA. The 4-stall setup with BTC Power hardware is all fairly standard, but the presence of a 12-stall open-access Supercharger in the same extended area of the property’s lot is less common. But the EA stalls do add higher-voltage DCFC and native CCS1 handles to remove the need for an adapter, so it does offer something.

🪙 Rivian opened another location to continue its steady Adventure Network progress this year, adding 8 stalls to its latest NACS-only site in Tampa, FL.

🟠 HondoGO opened the network’s latest site serving New York’s Hudson Valley, with 8 stalls at up to 200kW now available in Wappingers Falls, NY.

⚡ Chargelab added 4 stalls at a site with multiple dining options, including McDonald’s, wings, and Indian food, in Guelph, ON.

⭕ Red E opened 10 stalls across a couple of locations, with one at a Toyota dealership in O’Fallon, IL, and another municipality in Massachusetts added to the network with an installation for the Town of Swansea.

🟡 bp pulse got back in action this week, with both sides of its deployment strategy on display. A large-format location at TA in Baytown, TX, adds 12 stalls to the network, while the smaller gas station lot of ARCO in Beaverton, OR adds 6. Despite the different size/stall counts, both sites use Alpitronic HYC400s.

🚧 More and more construction is underway at 500kW Supercharger sites, with full V4 soon to be an option for EV drivers in Norwalk, CT, Arlington, TX, and several EVIO Charging SfB locations in New York state.

📝 In Tesla permitting, new Supercharger filings identified by MarcoRPi1 for Oakland, CA, Hays, KS, and Springfield, OH. On the freight electrification side, a new Megacharger has been permitted for Houston, TX.

⚪ Other activity on the Tesla Supercharger for Business side, where EVIO Charging dropped a bunch of upcoming sites in the last edition; this week it’s the turn of Michigan’s Charjo to do the same. Full V4 SfB sites are planned for 4 locations across the Mitten, and a fifth site in Streamwood, IL.

🪙 On the NEVI side, construction is far along at the Supercharger at the TA in Janesville, WI, work began at the Mobil site in West Branch, MI, and the Red E site in Thompson Springs, UT, is so close to full activation that two of the dispensers already appear to be charging vehicles… expect a full energized note in next week’s Fast Forward section!

🛒 The Walmart EV Charging (WEVC) coming soon pipeline remains steady, after a significant jump in permits reported by the Arkansas eTraveler/Wattmart last week. It currently contains: 356 known locations, of which 235 are in the permitting stage, and 117 are under construction. Of the latter, Supercenter 3273 in Overland Park, KS, has ABB A400s in the ground and could put the state’s first site on the map.

🟦 In non-Tesla permitting, Florida takes the headlines again, as The EV Infrastructure Report found plans for a WEVC site in Jacksonville, FL, and a Rivian Adventure Network site in the same city.

News - Commercial charging provider L-Charge announced on LinkedIn that it passed a major energy delivery milestone for electric fleet clients.

Numbers - More than 10 GWh of energy delivered to electric trucks for fleet use is the equivalent of approximately 30 million EV miles driven. Based on L-Charge’s statement, that amount of energy would cover almost one million average daily commutes in the United States.

Nuance - L-Charge’s solutions target one of the most prominent bottlenecks in commercial EV charging deployments: limited grid connections. The company’s mobile, off-grid power units tap cleaner fuel sources including natural gas, CNG, and hydrogen, for lower-emission deployments.

Next Up - The company will host a webinar on Wed. August 26th, focused on deployment lessons from its experience in the field, plus tips and takeaways gained from more than 250,000 sessions charging electric fleet vehicles.
