In partnership with

Good day, fellow electric Semi Spotter ⚡🚛

It’s a holiday weekend and this is arriving a day later than usual, so I’ll keep it brief: deployment of fast chargers for light-duty EVs is slowing down, but Megachargers for electric trucks are ramping up, and the sites we are getting for passenger EVs are getting bigger and more powerful. If you’re on the road this weekend, here’s to your safe travel and seamless charging.

Here’s how EV infrastructure developed across the US & Canada this week ⤵️

📊 Sunday Stat: Fast charger additions are down 19% in Canada this year, compared to the same period through Sept. 30th 2025. Like the US, Canadian deployment of DCFC has struggled to keep pace YOY, especially in Q326, which saw a 48% decline in sites added to the Alternative Fuels Data Center (AFDC) compared to Q325.

Despite opening the country’s largest Supercharger earlier this summer and energizing the network’s 3,000th stall in Canada last month, Tesla’s site and stall deployment both dropped in Q326 compared to the same period in 2025.

🔍 Charging Vendor Spotlight: Electric Era

News - Electric Era used the occasion of NACS (the retail show, not the connector type) as the perfect opportunity to share a partnership with United Dairy Farmers (UDF) to deliver the retailer’s first fast chargers and related loyalty rewards.

Numbers - 6 Ohio locations with UDF are planned, seemingly using Electric Era’s new RE400 hardware, which is still in testing at the company’s HQ in Seattle, WA. The wider network now has 31 locations with 182 stalls across 15 states.

Nuance - Retail partnerships with charging operators are common enough, but the loyalty aspect buried within this tie-up is what really stands out. UDF’s U-Drive Plus is specifically mentioned in terms of charging credits, while the “retail-led charging” angle of Electric Era’s latest hardware opens up all kinds of possibilities to connect drivers with rewards and promotions. Although it’s probably too early for the companies to share specific details, this could be one of the first fully-thought-out integrations of convenience retail and EV charging that we’ve seen in North America.

Next Up - Beyond the 6 locations in Ohio, Electric Era has around 20 other sites in pipeline, many of which are connected to the NEVI program. The company’s big launch of RE400 has the potential to set Electric Era apart from the competition, if the system finally delivers on the promise of connecting charging dwell time with in-store activity and repeat visits.

🔌 AC/DC: This Week in L2 Charging

News - ChargePoint accounted for nearly three-quarters of the week’s new L2 ports, with 415 of the 576 added, including an 84-port installation at Ventura College. Canada added 65 ports across British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Québec, including a Winnipeg entry from ChargePoint.

Numbers - 576 L2 charging ports were added to the Alternative Fuels Data Center this week, covering 30 states and 4 Canadian provinces/territories.

Notable New L2 + AFDC Additions:

🟠 ChargePoint added 415 ports across 78 locations, a remarkable 72% of the week’s total, with the headline entries an 84-port installation at Ventura College in Ventura, CA, and a 64-port garage install here in Boston, MA.

🔴 Tesla Charging provided its bi-weekly update on Wall Connector for Business deployment, with 440 ports added at 88 sites across 27 states. No locations for Canada in this batch, but notable sites at Modera properties in Massachusetts and Texas account for 66 ports. A vacation resort in Sun Valley, ID, and hotel sites in Burnet, TX (6 stalls at TownePlace Suites) and Wake Forest, NC (4 ports at Candlewood Suites Raleigh) will be welcome news for EV travelers in those areas.

⚫ Blink Charging added 37 ports at 8 sites, including 14 at Poly Plaza in Los Angeles, CA, 7 at the YMCA Community Complex in Anaheim, CA, and 6 at DRH Health in Duncan, OK.

⚜️ Circuit électrique added 14 ports at 5 Québec sites, anchored by 6 ports at a fire station in Laval, with the other four sites each adding 2 ports in Montréal (2), Laval, and Batiscan.

⭕ Red E added 10 ports at 3 sites in Connecticut and Massachusetts, including 6 at the animal rescue shelter in Quincy, MA.

🛣️ Fast Forward: This Week in DCFC

News - A light week for fast charger activations after a lot of action in edition 91, with limited activity in both the US and Canada. Tesla led the week and IONNA continued its consistent streak of openings, but Canadian operators could only manage a few sites and several Walmart EV Charging sites didn’t quite make the database, so expect those to show up next week. Those locations pushed Walmart past 1,000 stalls, two months after hitting 100 sites.

Numbers - 231 DC charging ports at 38 charging locations were added to the AFDC, covering 16 states and 2 Canadian provinces.

Check out DCFCtracker.com to see a map of the latest AFDC additions in the US, which you can also filter by the past week, month, or quarter.

US fast charger additions mapped by DCFCtracker over the past 7 days

Notable New Locations + AFDC Additions:

🔴 Tesla Charging added 98 ports at 9 of its own locations across 7 US states and British Columbia, including matching 16-stall deployments at Crosspointe Town Square in Woodbridge Township, NJ, and a Target in Chicago, IL. The only Canadian entry is an 8-stall site at Skaha Centre in Penticton, BC.

🛒 Walmart EV Charging energized its first location in West Virginia this week, along with other sites in Utah, Illinois, and Ohio. Given the state’s historic dearth of DCFC, Supercenter 1703 in Martinsburg, WV, steals the spotlight as the Mountain State’s only 400kW option. Activations in Columbus, OH, and Bloomingdale, IL, also build on the network’s Midwest footprint.

🟠 IONNA energized 38 ports at 4 sites, extending its active streak to 14 weeks and putting the rising network within sight of 200 active locations. Full-size spots come in the form of 12-stall Rechargery Relays in Oceanside, CA, and Jacksonville, FL, plus 10 stalls at another in Wellington, FL. These sites put Florida on 29 IONNA sites live, which is 15% of the network and now 10 clear of Texas, the state in second place.

⚪ On the Supercharger for Business side, two partners checked in with 4-stall sites. Francis Energy added Crest Fresh Market in Oklahoma City, OK, which by our count should make it the network’s 25th SfB location, while ChargedEV added Morrisville Square in Morrisville, NC.

🟢 Fresh from passing 6,000 stalls across the network, Electrify America energized another 10 ports at 2 sites, including 6 at Stallbrook Marketplace in Bellingham, MA, and 4 at a P66 location in Santa Clarita, CA. The latter is open under the “Powered by Electrify America” program, which is operated by EA but owned and priced by Phillips 66.

🟠 ChargePoint added 16 ports across 7 sites, the biggest a 5-port installation at an In-N-Out in Stockton, CA, followed by 4 ports at a Pride Travel Center in Springfield, MA.

🟡 Shell Recharge added 11 ports at 2 sites, with 8 at a NEVI site in Kerrville, TX, and 3 in Burlington, ON.

⚡ ViaLynk is now on a 10-week activation streak with the addition of a single 6-stall site in Richland, WA, a downtown location within walking distance of the city’s waterfront area.

⭕ Red E activated the latest Michigan NEVI site at a BP convenience store in Luna Pier, a community on the shores of Lake Erie near the border with Ohio.

🏁 Rounding out the week: NOODOE added 24 ports at 4 sites, including 10 at the Dolton Park District in Illinois; EV Connect added 9 ports at 3 sites, including 4 each at a high school in Madison, WI, and a site in Berkeley, CA; and ChargeNet added 4 ports at a Jack in the Box in Colton, CA.

🍄 Level Up - Sites with Expansions & Upgrades

⭕ IONNA upgraded 3 sites to Rechargery @ Circle K locations this week, in Bradenton, FL, New Bern, NC, and Kennewick, WA. With the consistent flow of sites flipping from red to IONNA’s unique brand colors, this upgrade project should be complete before the end of the year. It should also put IONNA past 200 active locations by the next edition.

🔧 Tesla opened expanded Superchargers at two Buc-ee’s locations in St. Augustine, FL, and New Braunfels, TX. The Florida site originally had 12 V3 Superchargers, with the addition bringing another 24 V4 posts online at up to 325kW to meet what must be significant demand. The Texas location is now up to 24 V3 stalls, based on the listing at supercharge dot info.

🔶 RANtracker reports an expansion of the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN) location in Augusta, GA, and a retrofit of the RAN site in Daytona Beach, FL.

🚧 On the upgrade side, the Electrify America sites in Lovelock, NV, and Willow Grove, PA are now back online with new BTC Power hardware. The remaining EA locations currently offline to replace aging hardware are: Anaheim, CA | San Mateo, CA | Lake Zurich, IL | Hauppauge, NY | Bayshore, NY.

📝 In the Pipeline - New Sites Planned, Permitted, or Under Construction

📝 In Tesla permitting, MarcoRP shared new Supercharger filings for Canton, GA, Center Point, IA, and Charlotte, NC (private access).

🟠 The EV Infrastructure Report found a new IONNA Rechargery permitted in Gresham, OR, while IONNA’s official account noted upcoming Rechargeries in Ripon, CA, and Richmond Hill, GA.

⚪ Over in the Supercharger for Business pipeline, a wide range of locations from as-yet-unknown owners showed up in planning, which we’ll clarify when we know who’s behind them. More of a known quantity, EVIO Charging has another couple of sites coming in Broomfield, CO, and Decatur, GA.

🚧 Construction is underway at new Supercharger sites in the following locations, according to supercharge.info: Whittier, CA | Louisville, CO | Schaumburg, IL | Newton Grove, NC | Las Vegas, NV | Gaffney, SC.

🛒 Walmart EV Charging has 358 sites in the pipeline across the US, with 127 sites currently under construction, based on numbers from Wattmart, and at least 231 in earlier development stages, according to permits and media sources. Of the many locations to watch, the network’s first site in Oregon could soon be energized, with both Eugene and Springfield set to go with Alpitronic Hyperchargers in the ground.

🚛 New Megacharger sites are planned for Robstown, TX, and Tacoma, WA. Check out a full tracking map from MarcoRP here.

🪙 On the NEVI side, permitting has started at the Shell/Sustainable Energies location in Jacumba Hot Springs, CA, based on an update from tkmedia. No major construction news to report this week, but we’ll have a full sweep of the 36 states with NEVI sites identified and break that down for edition 93.

Is there an upcoming site in your area that the EV community needs to know about?

Reply to this email with the location and charging provider (if known), and we’ll add it to the next edition 🙌🏻

🚛 First East Coast Megachargers Open in Georgia

News - After successfully energizing its debut Megachargers for the Semi in California earlier this year, Tesla Charging opened its first East Coast Megachargers for the all-electric truck in Georgia this week.

Numbers - 14 stalls across two Georgia Megachargers, the first of which brings 8 stalls in Conley, GA. The second in Ellabell, GA, adds 6 stalls at the first Pilot-Flying J location to host Tesla Semi charging.

Nuance - Based on current costs in California, Head of the Tesla Semi program Dan Priestley puts the electric truck’s running costs at $0.60/mile, which works out 40% lower than a truck running on diesel at $1/mile.

Next Up - With the Tesla Semi now ramping to volume production, expect weekly Megacharger openings for the foreseeable future. Pilot’s press release confirms this, with the company’s next locations near completion in California, Texas, and Nevada, and another 9 under active construction.
